It's Friday. The pre-Market catalog drops on Monday with more than a dozen new collections. Spring Market in Portland is less than two months away. (Ack!) And today is National Puppy Day!
This is Max. He's a terrier mix and he 11 months when this picture was taken by Elias Weiss Friedman - aka The Dogist.
In my 7th grade home ec class, putting in a zipper was a big deal. Sewing on a zipper required a special presser foot and a whole lot of courage.
Years later, when I tried putting in a zipper, I wondered what all the fuss was about. Adding a zipper is a pretty clear-cut process and makes it possible to create great projects (zippered pouches, anyone?) and clothing. But it wasn’t always so.
Someone once asked me why I loved scrap quilts. My answer was kind of silly... but it was also true. Not one of us is one "thing". We're daughters and sons, parents and spouses, friends and co-workers. We're painters and stitchers, bakers and builders, and so on. Each of us is a scrap quilt, a patchwork of diverse experiences and memories, quirks and talents, flaws and blessings.

Inquisitive. It sounds so much better than nosy. It's all about perspective. If I want to know what cool new products and tools have arrived in the warehouse the past few weeks... I go looking. And "inquisitive" means "given to inquiry, research, or asking questions; eager for knowledge; intellectually curious."
